Principles of the Methodology

The principle of Resonato’s unique approach derives from the resonating guitar in which sounds are amplified by an internal resonating cone, rather than depending on more sophisticated external electronic amplification. In a particular style of playing, this type of guitar is unconventionally tuned to a single chord and further chords are simply derived using a single bar moved up and down the fret board. By applying this principle to the design of reputation programmes, the delivery from within is independent of external organisations, simple to apply, uses a suite of co-coordinated, resonating messages and is loud and clear. This approach has a proven track record as both effective and economic.

Resonato works with the Company’s senior management team to develop a cohesive programme of key stakeholder interactions designed to address the specific reputation needs of the location. The focus is on “participative democracy” where all relevant stakeholders work together on issues designed to enhance reputation. Working through in-house personnel means that delivery is particularly relevant, inclusive, and cost effective. Those promoting the reputation of the company have true ownership of the programme.

The Programme of Work

  • Commitment: must come from Board level – meeting with Board Members
  • Involvement: a one-day workshop with Senior Managers to review the principles
  • Policy: from the Workshop a Policy is developed and key stakeholders identified
  • Audit: assess the opinions of each chosen stakeholder group to identify issues
  • Message Development: tailor resonating messages for each key stakeholder group
  • Programme Delivery: construct delivery plans, and identify and train deliverers
  • Monitoring and Measurement: audit to measure effectiveness of the programme.

Ultimately, the effectiveness is measured in the company’s bottom line – enhanced reputation leads to increased profitability.
